Your Someday is Today
Do you often wonder when your someday will come? You know, like “Starlight,
Starbright, will my someday come tonight?”
Or, “See a penny, pick it up, maybe someday I’ll have good luck.”
And what about “When you wish upon a star, perhaps my someday isn‘t quite so
far.” Now here’s a good one, “The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the water spout only
to find that it’s someday had taken another route.” It matters not the many times we
say these cute little riddles, it seems as though we’re always stuck right in the middle!
You’re still struggling to move forward, but, yet continue going backward. Like the
tortoise and the hare racing fiercely toward the finish line,
that mounting thirst, to get there first,
praying not to find your someday riding in a hearse.
Like children at play on the side walk, as they chant, “Step on the crack, break
your mother’s back.” And, so, in turn you carefully try to avoid every crack, every
crack of pain, depression, oppression, grief ,sorrow and agony. Every crack of
emptiness, deceit , fear, torment, pressure, unbelief, and resentment. Every crack of
unforgiveness, unfullfilled purpose, poverty, discouragement, abuse, tears and low
self-esteem. And the cracks only multiply, and you keep asking why?
